We're coming to London! Join us at Fourpure Brewery on the 4th November.

    We're bringing our one day taster training course to London. Over the course we will teach you to assess beer flavour to a professional standard. Over the day we will focus on 20 flavours, and teach you how to use sensory in an every-day scenario in your brewery.

The aims of the course are to help you

  • Indentify common beer flavours and describe them using industry standard terms

  • Objectively assess the flavour quality of beer

  • Learn the basics of incorporating sensory analysis into your quality program.

The aim of this hands-on practical training course are to teach you how to:

  • This course is intended for:

    • Brewery Taste Panel Leaders who want to improve their beer tasting and taste panel management skills;

    • Brewery Quality Managers who want to improve their beer tasting skills and learn how to make the best use of sensory analysis to drive quality improvements in their brewery;

    • Candidates for the Advanced or Master Cicerone© exams;

    • Brewery staff interested in setting up a sensory programme in their brewery.

    • No previous beer tasting experience is needed.

Course facilitator

Your course will be delivered by Cara Simpson. With a degree in Politics from Goldsmith’s in London, Cara is an experienced beer taster who has judged in beer industry competitions in Europe , Mexico, Brazil & the US. Having joined the company in 2015, Cara currently provides technical support to professional beer taster panels all over the world. Cara has received more than 300 hours of beer taster training since joining Cara Technology. She has facilitated Craft Beer taster training courses in the UK and USA and currently supports more than 100 beer tasting panels in both small and large breweries.
